New West Ham United signing slams Blackburn Rovers playing style

Former Blackburn Rovers defender Lars Jacobsen has criticised the style of football under boss sam Allardyce following his move to West Ham United.

The 30-year-old arrived at Ewood Park on a free transfer from Everton last summer but found the football ethos frustrating.

Jacobsen explained he was more used to a progressive style of football.

He told the West Ham United website: "That was what I was used to, keeping the ball on the ground and playing out from the back.

"Of course, you cannot be naïve, especially in the Premier League and there are many different styles.

"The way West Ham play is how I want to play and get the most out of my ability."

I saw Blackburn last season at UP; I think he has a point. Everything was just pumped up by the goalie into West Ham's 18 yard box

It is funny how Lars Jacobsen has suddenly become a football purist, yet he was more than happy to draw wages from Blackburn Rovers.
