Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce targets Bosnian striker

According to reports Blackburn Rovers are interested in Elfsborg striker Denni Avdic.

It is believed Avdic is attracting interest from a number of clubs given he is the top scorer in the Swedish league.

It is well-known that Allardyce is looking to strengthen his strikeforce and add to recent loan signing Mame Biram Diouf from Manchester United.

Elfsborg have confirmed to local publication Boras Tidning there is interest in the 21-year-old but that nothing has yet been finalised.

He said: “Because we are discussing with some clubs it does not mean that others are excluded. We have to see if anybody is serious about Denni at the end of the day."

Born in Bosnia, but capped by Sweden in a friendly, Avdic has spent his entire career In Scandinavia but is still eligible to play for the country of his birth.
