Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is interested in Bulgarian marksman Ivelin Popov.

The 22-year-old has been on trial at Ewood Park.

The player's club Litex Lovech said last week that a deal had been agreed but it seems their claims are somewhat premature.

Allardyce said: "We had a little look at him and we are in tentative negotiations.

"I am not so sure what the total outcome is in terms of price, but he is an interesting player.

"He is a very good young prospect."
