Blackburn Rovers are reportedly in a battle with Olympiakos for Nantes midfielder William Vainqueur.
Sky Sports claim Rovers are launching a bid to trump the Greek outfit.
It seems the Greek giants have already held talks with the French club over signing the holding player, but Rovers boss Sam Allardyce appears ready to pounce.
Nantes have informed Olympiakos that Rovers have made an official enquiry about the availability of the 21-year-old and are in talks with the player.
Vainqueur has made 22 appearances for the Ligue 2 outfit, as well as winning a cap for the French Under 21 team last season and has three years left on his current contract.
