French striker Xavier Pentecote is reported to be interesting Blackburn Rovers.
The People claims Rovers watched the Toulouse frontman on Saturday night and are believed to be ready to make a move.
The former France under-21 international is back with Toulouse after a prolific season with Bastia in the Second Division.
Pentecote has already been asked to come to Blackburn for talks during the window but did not want to do a test in case the move fell through.
The 23-year-old is valued at around £2 million by Toulouse which falls within boss Sam Allardyce’s tight transfer budget.
