According to reports West Brom are set to make a move for Blackburn Rovers frontman Jason Roberts.

It is understood that Rovers are now willing to listen to offers for the experienced hitman.

The 32-year-old was left out of Blackburn's squad for their friendly win over Sydney on Saturday, prompting speculation he could be set to leave Ewood Park ahead of the new season.

Roberts spent four years at the Hawthorns between 2000 and 2004 and would be open to a switch back to the west midlands if a deal could be agreed.

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is ready to offload Roberts and it seems a bid of around £1 million may well be enough to seal the deal.
