According to reports Blackburn Rovers are looking to land Portsmouth FC frontman John Utaka.

The Daily Mail claims Rovers are determined to bring in a striker before the end of August and are believed to have bid for Pompey's Utaka.

Rovers chairman John Williams had recently revealed that the club had made an increased offer for an unnamed striker and it was understood Utaka was the player in question.

Portsmouth are willing to sell the Nigerian international as they look to cut their costs following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Nigeria international has also attracted an approach from Rangers and declared a hope of moving to Ibrox.

A number of foreign sides are also believed to be keen on signing the 28 year old, but the player is understood to be keen to stay in England and Ewood Park could offer him that opportunity.

He's too good for Rangers - Barcelona should sign this talented winger. Oh and can they pay £13 mill. Make the cheque out to HMRC, please.
