Blackburn Rovers are understood to be one of a number of European clubs chasing Japanese talent following the country’s impressive showing in the World Cup.

Reports from the Far East claim Rovers recently missed out on goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima who joined Belgian club SK Lierse from J-League outfit Kawasaki Frontale.

Striker Keisuke Honda is attracting the most attention with the ace being linked with clubs such as AC Milan, Manchester City, Chelsea, Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

Grenoble midfielder Daisuke Matsui is attracting interest from Bordeaux and Deportivo La Coruna, Gamba Osaka’s Yasuhito Endo’s name has been linked with Liverpool and defender Yuto Nagatomo has gained attention from AS Roma.
