According to reports Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean is failing in his attempts to bring Christopher Samba back on board.

The Sun claims peace talks between the pair have yet to yield any positive outcome.

The unsettled centre-back is believed to have been penciled-in to play in a behind-closed-doors reserve fixture against Carlisle United yesterday.

However, he did not feature and did not take part in first-team training either.

Talks between the pair have so far failed to find a solution, even though Kean is desperate for defensive cover with Gael Givet facing a three-match ban for his red card at Arsenal.
