Blackburn Rovers have released a statement underlying their commitment to retaining defender Chris Samba.
The 27-year old centre-back is desperate to leave the struggling club and has handed in a transfer request.
He has told the club he wants to leave before the end of January, but Rovers have insisted that the player will not be sold.
The statement read: "Blackburn Rovers reiterate that team captain Chris Samba is not for sale.
"The player signed a new contract with the club less than a year ago which runs to June 2015."
