Spurs target Blackburn Rovers defender Samba after Cahill move to Chelsea

According to reports Tottenham Hotspur are moving for Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba after seeing Gary Cahill leave Bolton Wanderers for Chelsea.

The Daily Star Sunday Spurs boss Harry Redknapp now hopes to be in a position to compete with new QPR manager Mark Hughes for the 27-year-old.

Redknapp needs to sell before bringing in reinforcements and Hughes is currently chasing winger Steven Pienaar.

Rovers have insisted Samba is not for sale but it is understood Indian owners Venky’s will relent if the bidding reaches £10 million for the want-away centre-back.
