According to reports Blackburn Rovers want £15 million for defender Chris Samba.

The Daily Star Sunday claims the Congo international was originally valued at £8 million but is now £12 million.

It is understood that Rovers are now quoting nearly double their original valuation due to the interest of North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

Blackburn boss Steve Kean doesn’t want to lose the 27-year-old having seen his central-defensive partner Phil Jones move to Manchester United for £16.5 million.

But Blackburn’s cash problems mean it would be difficult for them to resist a big bid for Samba.

Erm... Bit of twisting of the truth going on here. Rovers have always valued Chris at £12million. It was the media that didn't.

If samba goes we will be favourites for the drop. It was due to Chris and his never say die attitude that helped to keep us up.

If Samba goes without a comparable replacement we will go down. His defensive qualities kept us up last season
