Blackburn Rovers plan shock move for ex-Real Madrid legend

According to reports Blackburn Rovers are chasing former Real Madrid striker Raul.

The Daily Mirror claims Rovers are eyeing the hitman who is now playing for German side Schalke.

Before joining the Bundesliga side last summer Raul spent 16 years at Spanish giants Real where he made 741 appearances and scored 323 goals in all competitions.

During his time at the Bernabeu, he won 16 trophies including, six La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.

At Schalke last season the 34-year-old became the highest goal scorer in UEFA competitions with 73 goals, helping the side to the Champions League semi-final against Manchester United.

Blackburn boss Steve Kean has been told by the club’s owners to land one marquee signing this summer and the Scot has earmarked the experienced Spaniard.
