A man who brutally stabbed his Lancashire nurse ex-girlfriend in a horror attack at a hospital has pleaded guilty to her murder.
Twenty-six-year-old Jane Clough was found dead outside Blackpool Victoria Hospital on 25th July 2010.
The former ambulance worker and father of her baby, Jonathon Vass, 30, admitted killing Jane during a plea in case management hearing at Preston Crown Court on Thursday.
Ms Clough, of Barrowford, was walking to her car after her shift at the accident and emergency department when she was attacked.
She was rushed back into the unit and her colleagues battled to save her, but she died shortly afterwards.
A post-mortem examination found the nurse had died from multiple stab wounds.
Detective Superintendent Neil Esseen, who led investigation, spoke on her family's behalf.
He said: “Jane’s family remain devastated by their loss, they are a close knit family and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.”
Vass has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Thursday 14th October.
