A 30-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a Blackpool nurse stabbed to death last Sunday.
26-year-old Jane Clough was found dead in the car park of Blackpool Victoria Hospital having suffered stab wounds to her chest. It is thought that Jane may have known the accused, who was until recently employed as a paramedic at the hospital until he was transferred to duties elsewhere.
Jonathon Vass, of Conway Drive in Preston has been charged with murder.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Blackpool magistrates court this morning (29th July).
Marie Thompson, Director of Nursing at Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: "We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the nurse's family, friends and work colleagues at this difficult time."
