Never has cricket seen a "maiden bowled over" quite like this.
The Lady Boys of Bangkok were more than a little stumped when to came to the finer points of the English summer game.
The outrageous stars got their shapely legs before wicket at a cricket club in Cheshire where they were put through their paces by batsman Ben Ormsby.
Thai-born Lady Boy Angkoorat Rawangnam told how he and his pals had become fascinated with cricket while watching TV in their dressing rooms while on tour.
But Angkoorat, 29, confessed they had problems knowing the difference between a googly and a full toss so they decided to try their hand at learning to play the game.
Angkoorat said: "We got hooked on watching this strange game cricket on the TV.
"The great thing is that it goes on for days, so we could follow the scoring okay as the runs mount-up.
"But we had no idea about all the different names for the types of balls and reasons that the batsmen lose-out/"
In keeping with the flamboyance of their "Fantasy and Feathers" show, where there are over 500 costume changes a night, they donned tasselled mini-dresses and high heels for their cricket lesson.
The practice session was staged at a cricket club in Hale, Cheshire, where keen batsman Ben Ormsby put the lady boys through their paces.
Said Ben, 26: "I've seen some unusual sights in cricket - but never anything like this.
"Give them their due - these guys had a go and I think they will understand the game a lot better when they watch it on TV now."
Lady Boy Akkarapol Khon Kaen, 29, added: "We asked if we could have a go at the cricket and some nice people said they would teach us how to play.
"I thought it was a bit like baseball, but I found-out that I was wrong.
"I had no idea that the ball was so hard - it's a really dangerous game.
"You would not find me at this position they call silly-mid-off - right by the batsman!"
The Lady Boys are performing in Manchester until 31st July as part of a 2010 UK nationwide tour.
