The BBC have denied Formula One legend Michael Schumcher is the Stig after he removed the white racing helmut on Top Gear last night.
The seven times world champion appeared on the show's couch dressed as the masked motor supremo after taking the new Ferrari FXX for a spin around the track.
Smashing the course record by almost seven seconds, the mystery driver was then asked by host Jeremy Clarkson to unveil himself.
Following chants of 'off, off, off' from the studio audience the famous racing helmut was eventually lifted to reveal the retired 40-year-old.
Despite many fans believing the German has always been the actual Stig, the BBC claim the stunt was nothing more than a joke.
A Beeb spokesman said: "We have never, and will never reveal who or what the Stig is."
