
Nearly £1000 in charity money raised at a summer fair was stolen from a car.
The theft occurred on Blackpool Road, Lea sometime between 11pm on Thursday 16 June and 7.30am the following morning.
Somebody has gained access to the Nissan Note and made off with a shopping bag, keys, CDs, binoculars and nearly £1000 in cash.
The money had been raised at the Lea Methodist Church summer fair and was intended for charity.
PC Paul Brookes said: "I would appeal to anybody who lives in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious on the night in question to contact police."
