Police have seized a £38,000 cannabis crop from an address in Lancashire.

A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply after 38 kilos of cannabis resin was discovered at his property on Elmridge, in Skelmersdale.

Officers also arrested a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of possessing cocaine.

Both have been released on police bail until 6 July, pending further enquiries.

Skelmersdale Insp Sue Swift said: "This seizure has prevented a significant amount of drugs from being distributed in and around Skelmersdale. I hope it sends out a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated.

"We continue to work with other agencies to ensure that we use all tactics available to us to put a stop to drug-related crime."

If you have any information about drugs in your area, you can contact the police on 08451 25 35 45.
