
A man who escaped a prison van in Lancashire has been recaptured after six days on the run.
John Paul Williams, 35, fled through the skylights of the van on the A59 in Burscough on May 4, along with 22-year olds Kieron Sendall and Haroon Ahmed.
Sendall and Ahmed were quickly detained and charged with escaping lawful custody.
Williams, who was wearing a red jumper and grey tracksuit bottoms when he fled, was captured on CCTV in a t-shirt and shorts on a bus in Gorton, Greater Manchester later that day.
He was serving a life sentence for the armed robbery of a convenience store in Gorton.
Police confirmed on Tuesday night that he has been caught.
