A man who allowed his dogs to be out of control and repeatedly caused a nuisance in Leyland has been jailed.
Jake Allen, 20, of Robin Hey was given a prison sentence on Thursday 28 April at Chorley Magistrates’ Court.
He was also given a four-year criminal anti-social behaviour order (CRASBO), which bans him from entering an area of the town.
Allen had pleaded guilty to allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place and causing injury earlier in the year.
On 17 November 2010, his Staffordshire Bull Terrier bit an elderly man near Morrison’s in Leyland.
The man had to be admitted to hospital for treatment on his injured legs.
On 24 November 2010, another Staffordshire Bull Terrier that he owned bit a teenage boy on Churchill Way in the town.
The boy was also taken to hospital for treatment and the dog was seized and will now be destroyed.
Allen was given 120 days imprisonment for the offences and has been banned from owning a dog for the next five years.
He was also given an additional 120 days in prison for an assault in Chorley on 24 April and a 120 day custodial sentence for indecent exposure and a sexual offence on a female on the same date.
The sentence for his sex crimes is to run consecutively and he will remain on the sex offenders register for the next five years.
In addition, he was given a 162 day prison sentence for breaching a suspended sentence.
A CRASBO is a criminally sought anti-social behaviour order and was given to Allen for anti-social behaviour including criminal damage, swearing, being abusive, and alcohol-related disorder on the back of his criminal convictions.
Farington Community Beat Manager PC Rachael Jackson said: “We had received numerous complaints from local residents about the behaviour of Allen. He was causing a nuisance to the community.
“This should reassure residents that we do act on their concerns and should send a strong message to those who commit criminal offences and anti-social behaviour that it will not be tolerated.
“We are committed to acting on the issues that matter to the public most and will continue to work with other agencies to address them.”
The CRASBO outlines that Allen is not allowed to enter an area of Leyland within Chapel Brow and Churchill Way, enter a convenience store on Moss Lane and act or incite others to act in an anti-social manner.
He is also banned from associating or being in company with Jonathan Fitzsimons, 21, of Westfield Drive, in a public place in Leyland, possessing alcohol in an opened container in a public place other than a licensed premise and interfering with property belonging to someone else in such a way as to cause alarm, harassment or distress.
The order will remain in place until midnight on 27 April 2015.
If you would like to report a breach of this CRASBO or acts of anti-social behaviour in your area, contact the police on 0845 1 25 35 45.
