A teenage boy, who has been a “constant menace” to residents in Burnley, has been given a two-year Anti Social Behaviour Order.
Jake Biriny, 14, of Herbert Street, Burnley, was handed the ASBO after appearing at Reedley Magistrates court on Thursday.
Police have had to deal with numerous calls from frightened people over the last six months regarding the ginger-haired teen’s behaviour.
He was found guilty of throwing missiles at houses and cars, as well as intimidating and harassing citizens in the Trinity area of Burnley.
Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing team secured the ASBO after working with Burnley Borough Council’s Community Safety Partnership.
Under the conditions of the Order, Biriny must not act in an anti-social manner in the Burnley Borough Council area.
He is also banned from entering or being on Carlton Road, Montague Road, upper Herbert Street or Queensberry Road, unless he is working on a paper round.
He must not associate with another named teenager or throw any object at any person, house, or other property.
Community Beat Manager PC John Fisher said: “Biriny has been a constant menace in the area and this Order will offer the residents some much needed protection against his behaviour.
“I encourage residents to contact us if they see anyone committing anti social behaviour in their neighbourhood.
“The police and the council will not tolerate this type of behaviour and we will continue to take action to tackle any issues which are raised in the future.”
