
Murder squad detectives were quizzing a suspect after a woman’s body was found at an house in Lancashire.
Police made the grim discovery of the body of the 34-year-old at an address in Norfolk Street, Nelson, at around 3pm on Monday 21st March.
Lancashire Police said they believe the body is that of a woman who came from the Nelson, although formal identification was awaited.
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and was being held for questioning at a police station.
A post mortem examination was due to take place on Tuesday to establish the cause of death.
Detective Superintendent Neil Esseen said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation, but we are already following up a number of lines of enquiry.
"I would appeal to anybody who believes they have information which could assist with this inquiry to contact police.”
