Police have released pictures of a teenager wanted for an unprovoked attack on a 13-year-old boy.
The victim claims he suffered a broken nose, a cut lip and a black eye after being approached by a group of teenagers outside the McDonalds in Friargate.
The incident happened at around 3pm on Saturday 22nd January.
Detective Sergeant Susan O’Neill, of Preston Police said: “I am keen to speak to the teenager who appears in these images. I have already spoken to one person but I believe that this other person will be able to assist our investigation.
“Assaults of this nature where offenders are young teenagers are very rare but this is a particularly nasty incident and we want to bring those responsible to justice.
“I would also appeal to anyone else who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to come forward and contact police.”
Anyone who recognises the boy in the picture can contact police on 01772 203203, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quoting log number LC-20110122-1003.
