
Arrangements have been made for the funeral of Gavin Blyth, the Series Producer of Emmerdale who died at the age of 41.
The funeral service will held on Tuesday 7th December at St Cuthbert's Church, Botanic Road, Churchtown, Southport, followed by a committal service at Southport Crematorium.
Flowers are to be limited to those from family members only, by request.
Friends and colleagues are invited, instead of sending floral tributes, to make donations in Gavin's honour via the web site www.beatbloodcancers.org where a page has ben set-up in Gavin's name.
Gavin was raised in Hesketh Bank, near Southport, and started his working life at Mercury Press Agency, Liverpool, before moving to Birmingham in the 1990s.
From there he entered to world of television and in 2002 became senior publicist at Emmerdale before embracing the art of script-writing.
He worked extensively on Coronation Street and Emmerdale and in January 2009 landed the senior post of Series Producer on the drama.
During his spell at the helm of the show he was credited with leading a huge revival of its fortunes through a series of gripping storylines.
Glowing tributes have been paid to him. Colleagues described Gavin as "a genius", while family and friends have spoken of their sense of grief and deep loss at his passing.
