A Lancashire drug dealer who flooded the streets with heroin and cocaine was jailed for six years
Mahmoud Jaber, 27, of Arncliffe Avenue, Accrington appeared Burnley Crown Court on Friday after pleading guilty to possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent supplying cocaine, supplying heroin and being concerned in the production of crack cocaine.
Jaber was arrested after concerns were raised by members of the public which prompted a lengthy investigation by Accrington Police’s Intelligence Unit.
During their enquiries police discovered a drugs factory at a flat on Loynd Street, Great Harwood – a property which had been rented specifically to manufacture crack cocaine and prepare heroin for onward distribution.
Property valued at over £78,000, including a Breitling watch, a BMW and cash was also seized after officers raided two further addresses on Arncliffe Street, Accrington.
These items will now be subject to a further investigation under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Speaking after sentencing DS Kathryn Cussans said: “Jaber is a prolific drug dealer who flooded the streets of East Lancashire with large amounts of heroin and crack cocaine.
"I have no doubt that this sentence will have a huge impact on the supply of class a drugs in Accrington.
“His drug dealing activities had a considerably negative impact within the local community and I would like to thank those people who came forward with information for their assistance.
“We are committed to removing drug dealers from our communities and I hope people are reassured that we do listen to their concerns and will always act on information we receive from the public.”
