Boy, 6, dies in road collision in Wigan

A six year old boy has died after being hit by a car in Wigan.

Police were called to the scene on Gloucester Crescent, Hindley, at 1.45pm following reports of a collision between a bicycle and a Ford Maverick.

The little boy, who had been riding the bike, was seriously injured and was taken to Wigan Royal

He was taken to Wigan Royal Infirmary for treatment but later died. Nobody else was injured in the collision.

Witnesses are asked to call traffic police on 0161 856 7201.
