A 53-year-old has been arrested in connection with a death in Blackburn.
Police were contacted by staff at Blackburn Royal hospital at around 7pm last night, after a patient, who could have been the victim of an assault had died.
Ambulance crews had found the man at an address in Adelaide Terrace before taking him to hospital, where he died.
An investigation led to the arrest of a 53-year-old man who was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
