Man in court for attempted murder at Cleveleys

A man was due to appear before a Lancashire Magistrates Court charged with the attempted murder of a woman whose throat was slashed at a house in Cleveleys at the weekend.

Martin Brown, 44, of Rear St George's Lane, Cleveleys, was expected to appear before Wyre Magistrates Court in Fleetwood charged with attempted murder.

On Sunday (17th July) police were called to an incident at Victoria Road West in Cleveleys when the woman was found in the street with a knife wound to the neck.

On arrival they found a 41-year-old woman who was suffering from a laceration to her neck.

She was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where she received stitches and has since been discharged.
