
A tearful grandmother poured-out her heart over the death of a teenager found hanged at her home in Lancashire.
Tragic Aimee Critchley, 13, was found hanging in her bedroom at the family home in a suspected suicide.
Writing a Facebook tribute grandmother, Christine Critchley said: "Today our world is very dark. Yesterday we lost our precious granddaughter Aimee.
"She is now at peace. God bless her."
Staff and pupils at All Hallows RC High School yesterday (TUES) offered prayers for Aimee and its headmaster paid tribute to the "conscientious and caring" pupil.
Paramedics were called after Aimee was discovered at around 5.15pm on Monday at her family home.
She was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital but doctors lost their battle to save her life and she was pronounced dead at 6.30pm.
Police were called in launched an investigation into the events leading up to the tragedy and whether her death was "triggered" as a suicide.
Chief Inspector Richard Robertshaw said: "This is an extremely tragic event and our sympathies obviously go out to Aimee's family.
"We are currently investigating the circumstances that have led to Aimeeās death, but at this stage it is unclear as to what triggered this tragedy."
A priest led teachers and children at All Hallows RC High School, Penwortham, in offering prayers for Aimee.
The school's headteacher Chris Riding said: "The entire school community is devastated to hear the terribly sad news of the death of one of our pupils, Aimee Critchley.
"Aimee was a Year 9 pupil and this morning we have had the sad task of breaking the news of her death to our staff, Aimee's friends and classmates.
"Aimee was a lovely, conscientious, caring pupil who was always keen to volunteer to help. We have nothing but happy memories of her.
"Our local priest Father Austin Griffin led staff and pupils in prayers when we remembered Aimee.
"The thoughts, feelings and prayers of everyone in the All Hallows community are with Aimee's family and close friends at this terrible time."
A team of bereavement counsellors was drafted-in to work with teachers and children at the comprehensive school which has 895 pupils on its roll.
Aimee's parents were too distraught to talk about her death but her sister, Natasha Louise Critchley, said: "RIP Aimee (Dib) You'll never be forgotten and you'll be sorely missed.. Love always lil sis xxxxxx"
A message from another relative Andrew James Cross read: "RIP squidge I will always love you xxx".
