The family of a 77-year-old woman who was subjected to a terrifying ordeal in her own home in Cleveleys have put up a £10,000 reward for information.
Just before midnight on June 27 2009 police were called to an address on Blandford Avenue after neighbours heard noises coming from a house.
When officers entered the property they found the lady tied up. It is thought three offenders had entered her house wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.
They had tied up the lady with a pair of tights before making off with a quantity of cash and jewellery.
Detective Sergeant Jonathan Clegg from Blackpool CID said: “This was a particularly nasty incident where an elderly lady has been subjected to a terrifying ordeal. The victim has understandably been left shaken by what has happened and she continues to be cared for by close family and friends.
“Her family have put up a £10,000 reward for any information that leads to the conviction of the people responsible for this horrendous crime. I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact police.
“I would also like to reassure the public that these offences are rare and I have a team of officers working on the case and we are putting all our efforts into bringing the people responsible to justice.”
