Lancashire Labour MP, Kitty Ussher, is back at the Treasury, following the recent Government reshuffle.
Burnley and Padium Kitty was previously Economic Secretary to the Treasury, before taking up her most recent Ministerial post at the Department for Work & Pensions.
The Prime Minister Gordon Brown rang Kitty on Monday afternoon to offer her a job back at the Treasury. Half an hour later she was straight into a meeting at Number 11 Downing Street with the Chancellor Alistair Darling and other ministers to discuss the team's priorities, and within 24 hours was answering questions in parliament on her new portfolio.
Kitty Ussher said: "I was quite surprised to be rung by the prime minister to ask me to go back to be back at the department where I had previously worked but I accepted straight away.
"I'm glad to be part of the team working hard to get us through this difficult recession as soon as possible."
