
Police have arrested a convicted sex offender who went on the run in Lancashire.
John Geoffrey Humphries, 41, was wanted for breaching the requirements of the Sexual Offences Act by failing to register his address and for recall to prison.
Humphries was convicted at Preston Crown Court on 5th October 2010 for two offences sexual activity with a male child under 16 years and two offences of detaining a child without lawful authority.
He was jailed for three years and four months and was released on licence on July 28th this year.
Humphries has links to Walthamstow, East London and officers asked people in those areas to be vigilant and report any possible sightings to police.
However he was arrested on Thursday 29th December after police received a call from a member of the public that he had been seen on Station Road, South Shore, Blackpool.
He was located on Withnell Road and was arrested. He was set to be interviewed by officers about the notification breach.
