10 North West drug dealers have been jailed for a total of 62 years for conspiracy to supply class A, B and C drugs.
Sentencing comes after police smashed a drug racketing operation in February this year which involved raids on properties in Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria and North Wales.
The 10 men, who came from Liverpool, Lancashire and Cumbria, each pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply either class A, B or C drugs.
They were sentenced at Preston Crowd Court following the operation which was carried out by the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (TITAN).
Detective Inspector Andy Black from TITAN said: “These individuals had an adverse affect on the communities of Lancashire and Cumbria through their supply of drugs.
“Now that these individuals are behind bars, I believe it has left the communities safer places to live.”
“We will continue to listen to the concerns of local residents and act upon them. Information from the public is vital for us to take action against suspected criminals and I would urge residents to work with us by telling us about any suspicious activity.”
Crown Advocate from the Crown Prosecution Service Joanne Cunliffe added: “These criminals were involved in the supply of large amounts of drugs across the North West and, by putting them behind bars, the CPS and police have removed a significant source of drugs in the region.”
As part of the investigation, drugs with a street value of around £230,000 were seized. Half a kilogram of cocaine, one kilo of amphetamine, 8,700 benzylpeperazine tablets and temazepam were found at different properties around the region.
Two further men are to be sentenced on the 20th December after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply class B and class C drugs.
