An I.T. firm in Lancashire is to give away £5000 worth of computer products in a competition run for schools.
CleverBoxes announced the initiative after teaming up with manufacturers Hewlett Packard and Monarch Education Furniture.
The Accrington-based business is asking primary schools across the county to run competitions with pupils producing a picture, short story or presentation around the theme of the ‘Classroom of the Future’.
The schools will all submit their best entry and the overall winner will receive the price which includes 15 HP Net books.
IT Product Manager at CleverBoxes Gary Sargent said: “The education market place is a new area of focus for us.
“Technology has driven the classroom experience a long way in the last 10 years, so much so that it has now become the norm.
“The object of the competition is to engage with pupils to discuss these developments, to gain an understanding of how they perceive technology at work in the ‘classroom of the future’.
“It is then up to the pupils to express that in the form of a picture, poem or PowerPoint presentation.
“CleverBoxes has come a long way over the past 12 months and so we felt that it was appropriate to give something back to the local community.
“This is a unique opportunity for schools in the area to benefit from some fantastic prizes. After all, you can’t put a value on a child’s education.”
Any primary schools in Lancashire interested in taking part in the promotion should contact CleverBoxes’ Education division on 01254 315083.
