
A man has been jailed for over three years after breaking into the home of an “elderly and vulnerable man” in Burnley.
Craig Parkinson, 26-years-old of no fixed address appeared at Burnley Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to burglary.
The incident occurred on Ivy Lane during the early hours of 21st September with the thief managing to make off with a 32-inch television as well the victim’s insulin pen.
Parkinson was later arrested by police after forensic evidence recovered from the scene linked him to the offence.
Sgt Tom Edmondson said: “Parkinson invaded the home of an elderly and vulnerable man who was left upset and frightened by the ordeal.
“We understand the devastating impact that this intrusive crime can have on victims and although burglary is at its lowest in years, we will never lose focus.
We are determined to take action to continue to target those people who invade your homes and steal your possessions.”
