Wigan Athletic forward Victor Moses is desperate to get his Premier League campaign up and running against Tottenham this weekend.

The Latics winger has already picked up two different injuries with the season only three games old.

He told the Wigan Evening Post: “It’s been such a frustrating start for me.

“I got the start against Blackpool, got injured, came back, scored against Hartlepool, then get injured again.

“I don’t know what to say, it’s just so annoying.”

Having already beaten the odds once this month, Moses is hoping for similar results this time.

“I really thought I’d be out for three or four weeks when the first one happened,” he said. “But when I was assessed by the physio, they said I was okay to carry on playing.

“When I kicked a ball there were no problems, it was all good, and I was on the bench against Chelsea.

“The latest one is my ankle – the lad gave me a right whack. Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious.”

He continued: “I just want to play as much as I can, and was pleased to find the back of the net again on Tuesday,” he added. “We knew we were on a hiding to nothing.

“But we got a result and hopefully we can take some of that confidence into the Tottenham game.

“The first two games have been difficult, but as a team we just need to get back to basics and stick together.

“Blackpool played very well on the first day and I think they would have beaten most teams on that day.

“Then it was Chelsea, the champions, and it was always going to be difficult against them.

“We just need to get those results out of our heads and try and move forward with confidence.”
