The search is on for Blackburn's 'Adventurer of the Year'.
To celebrate the opening of a new Blackburn superstore, retailer GO Outdoors is looking for born explorers and obsessive thrill-seekers, for the chance to win the adventure of a lifetime.
If conquering Mount Everest, running across the Sahara or even trekking across the Darwin Moors is your idea of the perfect weekend, then you embody the Spirit of Adventure and GO Outdoors wants to celebrate your zest for life!
As well as being awarded the prestigious title, Blackburn’s Adventurer of the Year 2010, the winner will also receive £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store and be commemorated with a plaque.
New GO Outdoors store manager Neil Kettle said: "We’ve all heard about adventurers like Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Bear Grylls, but we’re looking for our very own local outdoor hero.
"That means someone from the Blackburn community who has achieved something extraordinary through outdoor pursuits.
"Perhaps they’ve climbed a mountain against all the odds, or raised money for charity trekking in Nepal? Equally significant could be someone who has inspired others to enjoy the benefits of outdoor adventure - maybe through work with a local community group like the Scouts or Guides?"
Everyone who enters Adventurer of the Year competition will receive a GO Outdoors discount card.
