King of Mirth waxing lyrical in Lancashire

Ken Dood has never been a dummmy... but now he is preserved in wax along with his little ventriloquists's dummy mate Dicky Mint.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool paid homage to Liverpool’s legendary comic genius at his home from home - The Grand Theatre - when they revealed his new wax figure.

Doddy and his wax doppelganger had fans seeing double when the "twins" appeared on stage together at the Grand Theatre.

Ken was in Blackpool to perform a one night sell-out gig at and his figure, fresh from Merlin studio will be revealed to his audience live on stage.

The Squire of Knotty Ash said: “I am filled with plumptious pride and completely discumknockerated to be honoured in this way.

"And I'm very much looking forward to seeing my figure in Madame Tussauds Blackpool.”

Ken is one of many well loved celebs who will receive the wax treatment for Madame Tussauds Blackpool, with many more stars lined up.

A new "Madame Tussauds Blackpool" will be the 12th Madame Tussauds to open around the world and the first UK attraction outside of London.

The Blackpool destination like all the others will be a unique attraction reflecting the interests and characters special to the nation’s favourite seaside resort.

The new multi-million pound attraction will be a huge draw for the North West featuring new, amazingly lifelike wax figures of the quality synonymous ONLY with the iconic Madame Tussauds brand.
