Eight arts organisations in Lancashire are to receive nearly £24,000 in funding to help them develop a wide range of projects throughout the county.
The decision to award the grants was made by CC Mike Calvert, Lancashire County Council’s cabinet member for Adult and Community Services, under Section 2 of the Local Government Act 2000.
This means the projects must either promote or improve the economic, social or environmental well-being of their area.
CC Mike Calvert said: “I recognise the vital contribution that the arts make to cultural life here in Lancashire. The people who are directly involved in these excellent projects will benefit enormously, as will the people who visit them.
"In making my decision on these grants, I have been impressed by how they all seek to achieve at least one of the principles of Participation, Accessibility, Equality, Social Inclusion and Sustainability.”
