Labour MP for Preston Mark Hendrick is visiting the Lancashire Global Education Centre (LGEC) on Friday 20 November.
The Preston-based centre works with more than 100 schools, colleges and youth groups across Lancashire and the North West.
LGEC was established in 1980 and aims to help children and young people to understand global issues, such as fair trade, the environment and diversity.
The LGEC is a registered charity and the Preston school is one of 50 development education centres in the UK.
Mark Hendrick said: “Having travelled extensively throughout Europe, and the world, I am well aware of the impact of globalisation, and I commend the work that is being carried out by the LGEC.
“Children and young people need to be made aware that we as individuals, and as a nation, are influenced by the economic, political and cultural activities that take place across the world.”
Chief executive of LGEC Richard Corbridge said: “Our staff and trustees welcome the visit by Mark Hendrick to our office. It is Mark’s second visit to this organisation to hear from our staff about how we provide local support to learners and educators across Lancashire.”
