Girls Aloud gig review

An array of skimpy outfits, false eyelashes and a sparkling performance could mean only one thing - Girls Aloud were back rocking the North West last night.

Cheryl, Nadine, Sarah, Kimberley and Nicola were in Liverpool for their first of two dates at the Echo Arena, much to the delight of the hyped-up crowd.

Making a dramatic late entrance to the stage, the fivesome rose from beneath the floor on single pedestals donning shimmering silver dresses and blasting out the hit single Promise.

The glitzy garments were just the first of five sexy outfit changes from the girls, with each change greeted with an enthusiastic cheer of approval from the crowd.

The hysteria only rose as they performed more perfectly choreographed routines to songs from the album such as Fix Me Up, and Revolution in the Head.

The girls are good, if not spectacular singers, but for putting on a seriously entertaining show, there aren't many better around.

This was proved halfway through the concert when the girls were lifted over the audience and transported to a stage in the middle of the arena, (Take That'esk) whilst singing their most recent single Untouchable.

A couple of covers were thrown in, James Morrison's Broken Strings and Britney Spears' Womaniser went down a storm.

The energy on stage was impressive, with Sarah Harding being her usual loud, ladette self, and acting as if she was on a night out rather than entertaining a 10,000 strong crowd.

The old classics were not neglected either, and the band bounced enthusiastically through Something Kinda Ooh and their debut single Sound of the Underground.

And fans were given the encore they wanted, when the girls reeled of a mixture of some their greatest hits, including The Show, Can't Speak French and another snipper of Promise.

These girls no how to entertain, and for anyone who was at the show, count yourselves very, very lucky indeed.
