* North By Northwest NxNw * 3 days (Friday 22-Sunday 24 May) * 4 venues * 6 stages * 70 bands *

Fuelled by their passion for live music Iain Brownbridge and Andrew Daubney created music festival North By Northwest (NxNw) and it looks set to rock Blackpool and raise money for a good cause.

The three-day rock music event is spread over the city's four popular haunts The Blue Room, Connolly's, Scrooges Wine Bar and the West Coast. Profits will go to Tommy Castles Trust - raising funds for Trinity Hospice and care services.

Ian said: "Blackpool is centered around a binge-drinking nightlife and we wanted to bring some real culture to the city.

"The only time local musicians and bands get together is the annual rock battle, which only breeds animosity between the bands.

"It's good that everyone is getting involved in a non-competitive way!

"Lots of bands have pitched in and offered their services to help with this event.

"And I strongly believe that NxNw will grow over the years and will hopefully rival some of the more well known events in bigger cities."
