DJ Campbell finally joined Blackpool FC on a permanent deal yesterday following an ongoing transfer saga with Leicester City, for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £1.2 million (smashing the club's transfer record in the process for the second time this summer).
It is the striker's third spell with the Seasiders, after two successful loan periods that first helped the club stave off relegation from the Championship, and then helped fire them into the promised land.
Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, the 28-year-old said: -
"Being a permanent Blackpool player after all this time makes me feel hungry and as though I want to succeed and help the club stay up," said the frontman, who will wear the number 39 shirt.
"I've been wanting this for I don't know how long now and finally it has come true so I am delighted to be here.
"All the fans and all the players know I wanted to come back and I am just delighted that it has been made possible.
"I am delighted to be in the Premier League and it is a bonus to be in the Premier League with Blackpool."
