It is reported that Preston North End and Leeds United are interested in former Norwich City midfielder Darrel Russell.
Russell helped Norwich City overhaul Leeds to clinch the League One title last season.
However, he decided to leave Carrow Road at the end of the season after the expiry of his contract.
He has been linked with a move to North End and was seen watching the Lilywhites beat Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday evening.
Preston boss Darren Ferguson may have to fight for the 29-year-old as it seems Leeds united are also believed to be interested.
