Wigan Athletic's on-loan Bolivia striker Marcelo Moreno is prepared for the physical side of the Premier League as they battle to stay in the top flight.
The 22-year-old joined the Latics from Shakhtar Donetsk in January but has only three months to impress manager Roberto Martinez.
Moreno had a good record in South America but has found the transition to European football more difficult.
After two substitute appearances, Moreno started his first match for the Latics in Wednesday's goalless draw at home to Bolton, and he believes he has adapted quickly.
"I feel good. My position is right up front, whether by myself or as part of a three-man forward line it is all the same to me," he said.
"I am confident I can score goals and I hope, with hard work, it is something I will be capable of really soon.
"I'm a striker and my job is to score goals for the team. To be fair, wherever I have gone I have managed to score goals and my record is pretty positive.
"Although I know this is the best league in the world, football is difficult here and it is not easy to score goals, I have to think positively and that is what I am doing at the moment.
"What I have noticed is defenders certainly don't pull any punches in this country.
"They get stuck in - but that's fine. It's up to me to be ready for that.
"We prepare all week and get physically fit and mentally prepared to be ready for every game.
"I'm not going to reveal any secrets I've worked out for myself but I've spotted things here and there and, if I can capitalise, that will be great."
