Wigan-born Coronation Street star Kym Marsh and her her boyfriend Hollyoaks actor Jamie Lomas are back together and are planning to wed in 2010.
Jamie proposed to Kym on New Year’s Eve in front of her family during a party at her home.
The couple's engagement comes after the announcement last October that they had split-up after a 15-month romance.
A friend of the couple said: “When the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve Jamie got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and proposed. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”
Kym, 33, and Jamie went through a difficult patch after losing a baby son, Archie Jay, who died when he was born 18 weeks prematurely last February.
Marsh, who plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the ITV soap, was previously married to former EastEnders star Jack Ryder and has two children, Emily and David, from a previous relationship with Dave Cunliffe.
Kym, who attended the Elliot Clarke Theatre School in Liverpool until the age of 15 was born in Wigan, Lancs.
