Despite his side’s Jekyll and Hyde performances he insists his Championship players should receive plaudits for stepping up to the Premier League challenge.
He said: "We have to recognise this is a team that has come up from the Championship with no seasoned Premier League players in the group in terms of somebody who has played two or three years.
"This group of players deserves enormous credit for where we are but we have to continue that. We come back with two home games and we have to make sure we go and get some points and move on from there."
He added: "We know we are capable of winning games.
"The margins are very fine but we won't lose confidence or lose heart because we've lost the game. We know we are good enough to have won it. What we have to do is really brush up on those big decisions in the game.
"The longer it (the run) goes on it doesn't help anybody but it won't effect us in terms of what our motivation is, which is obviously to stay in the league, and we will look to continue to pick up points be it home or away."
Coyle added: "There's no doubt everybody will look at those elusive away points, and rightly so. I don't mind that. We are in the best league in the world and everything is scrutinised.
"That's something you deal with. We are mentally strong at this football club and it won't deter us from our ultimate goal, which is to stay in this league."
