It is reported that Rovers are to give a trial to MFK Kosice star Juraj Hovancik.
The 19-year-old had a trial at Middlesbrough last season but a deal could not be struck due to financial issues.
Sky Sports claim Rovers have turned to Hovancik as the deal they were planning for his fellow MFK teammate Dionathan Nascimento fell through due to work permit problems.
Sam Allardyce will look at the midfielder over the coming week before deciding whether to bring him to Ewood Park.
