It has scooped seven Bafta's, but the dad of Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle has revealed he NODDED OFF during a screening of the award-winning film.
Patrick Boyle, 88, says his son's first movie Shallow Grave is his favourite, and he is yet to watch Slumdog in full to catch-up with the parts he missed.
But Patrick, known as Frank to friends, has admitted the film has hit heights "beyond his wildest dreams".
Speaking from his home in Bolton, Patrick said: "Slumdog Millionaire is definitely not my favourite film.
"I've seen it, but I think I missed a couple of parts so I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
"It's a great film and I'm very proud of Danny, but my favourite film of his is Shallow Grave.
"I think because it was his first it has always stuck in my mind.
"It's a very special film to me and the rest of the family.
"Slumdog Millionaire has propelled Danny to new heights beyond my wildest dreams.
"Everyone is so proud of him."
And Patrick, who uses a walking stick to get by, has revealed an ambitious plan to travel to Los Angeles to see Danny pick up an Oscar.
He added: "I didn't manage to get to the Bafta's, so I watched it at home.
"But the Oscars is the big one and I know Danny is looking forward to it.
"I'm 88 so it's not easy for me to get about, but I'll be trying everything to get over there and support Danny.
"If he could pick up an Oscar that would truly be the pinnacle."
